MOST religions already have their own resources to teach good character traits and values. But for parents and educators looking to get a neutral non-religious-based resource, check out Character Building Resource published by Learners Publishing.

Co-written by a panel of authors from Singapore and the United Kingdom, the book is targeted at children aged between 9 and 13, whose adult sense of good and bad, and right and wrong is just beginning to develop.

The book covers all the core values that they will need.

Complementing national education

A unique feature: it supports its main values education framework with lessons and examples drawn from Singapore's history and social structure.

Thus this complements values education with national education, providing the student with material that comes from their own experience and environment, increasing its meaning for them.
