onSponge: What made you start Green Bean in 2005?

Jason Yap: To help people in general. It gives me enormous satisfaction when I see people are improving in their lives. It improves my life too. If I am able to help them in any way, it fulfils my ultimate goal in life!

onSponge: How would you describe the current student environment in just one line?

Jason Yap: Hectic and robust!

onSponge: Is the Green Bean experience unique to your knowledge?

Jason Yap: Unique in the sense that the students have told me so over the years. It is seen as a nice and conducive place to study and learn.

onSponge: Yes, the users and their results are among the best of judges. What do you think parents/students look for in a tuition centre? In this context, any advice for them?

Jason Yap: Results-oriented, good student-instructor relationship. It should be a place for not only building their academic results but also contribute to their personal development.

onSponge: What do you see as key challenges and how do you plan to overcome them to help your students?

Jason Yap: Key challenges: (1). Increasing numbers of students. (2). Improving quality of tutoring due to the increasing student enrolment.  Some ways to meet them...upgrading in the following areas:  (1). Systems of operation. (2). Personal development.

Many insights also come through studying and learning from student interaction!

onSponge: Thank you Jason. We wish you success in furthering the Green Bean experience for your students.
