Sitting for an exam can be nerve-wracking for some students and in our past decade of helping students to score in PSLE Math, we have seen how exams can work against the most academically prepared student due to an emotional meltdown.
While you are busy ensuring that your child has enough revisions and practises, you might have missed out on one critical preparation – mental readiness. In other words, conditioning your child’s mindset for exams so that his state of mind is orientated to perform at an optimum level at a critical stage. And just like learning, mental readiness can only be achieved through exposure and practice.
This explains for onSponge’s bi-yearly assessments that are organised exclusively for our students not just to monitor their progress but also to help them better manage the symptoms of test anxiety including discomfort, fear, and panic. In fact, at our annual signature PSLE Mock Assessment, the entire cohort of close to 600 P6 students from our 11 Oodles Learning centres island-wide will sit for a common paper. This assessment is not only a platform that benchmark students from more than 80 Primary schools, but it also gives our students the opportunity to appreciate how it would feel on an actual PSLE day. |
