Use the External Unchanged - or is that Thermal Changed ??
My girl is always cold when swimming, even in the heat of Singapore.
We have purchased a few different types from the 'normal' swim wear shops. Some from Parkway, 2nd level at the swim wear shop selling Arena and also one from The Heeren (Up stairs tucked away in the South West corner, Nearest to Orchard Road on the right if looking at the building from Orchard Road) - I think the 2nd or 3rd level where there is a coffee / ice cream shop. This particular shop carried thicker thermal for colder climates that she used swimming in the fresh water lakes in Canada. I am sure you will find some at the Forum at the top of Orchard as well.
You need to consider:
- the climate which will help with thickness
- whether you require a full body suit or partial
- is it purely for warmth? Or for partial flotation in the case of Ocean swimming, or for sun UV protection for all days beach swimming
Some things to consider:
You can buy two piece (tops and pants) allowing you to mix. Example some kids notice the cold more on the arms. Thus having a long sleeve top and a short sleeve top with one set of pants could be useful. Yet on the downside, the tops can ride up leaving the stomach, and more, exposed. Not nice for swimming lessons, when the focus should be on the technique rather than ensuring we are not getting arrested for indecent exposure.
The thicker the material, the better for colder climates but this also restricts the movement thus child's ability to swim as well - again not necessarily the best for taking lessons.
In terms of brands, we have purchased ARENA, Speedo, TYR and Stingray. You may want to search for them in Google Singapore.
