While everyone is looking forward to year-end hols, we should be all wet in the palms. With 5 children (and not a beneficiary of the latest government perks!), it's good planning for holidays - need to be impressive for the kids yet within good budget! My 15 year old asked, "Why can't we be like our friends? They go to far away places like Europe, USA, etc. We always at Malaysia and the furthest is Thailand!" Maybe the government should consider a Holiday Package too especially when the kids turn 10 and get more demanding...

I can imagine how your kids feel especially if they have to hear from their friends who ONLY go to such places and take weekends off to Hong Kong! I have 2 and usually we try to take them further out in Dec. This June, it was Penang and my son complained, "My friend so good, in Korea...". Imagine - we were in Korea 3 years ago! How demanding can these kids get today..
