Hi, I venture these refer to non-finite verbs. The answers are linked to the present participle form.

These would be "quarrelling" and "bite"

wat is a present participle form?

For 2) bite is the only one tat sounds correct.

For 1) I know its quarrelling because my neighbours always quarrel and my mom always says they are quarrelling again!

For both questions what part of the sentence tells it to use the correct answer. Like in question 1, what makes it correct to use quarrelling. And why not quarrel?

Hi, I'm not a language expert and just a learner like you. My language facility comes through quite a bit of reading so most times I just go by it feeling/sounding right.

In this case, I came across this site url which supports the answers and might help to shed some light on non-finite verb and participle aspects of grammar:
www.authorstream.com/Presentation/raches...tion-ppt-powerpoint/

I would invite others to contribute their views to explain it better.
