Thank you for your help.

"Peiling, would you like to walk to the school canteen with me ?" asked her teacher.

a) Peiling's teacher asked if Peiling would like to walk to the school canteen with her.
b) Peiling's teacher asked if she would like to walk to the school canteen with her
c) Peiling's teacher asked her if she would like to walk to the school canteen with her.
d) Peiling's teacher suggested she walk to the school canteen with her

"Why don't you visit me next week when I am less busy ?" Mdm Ana suggested to me.

a) Mdm Ana suggested to me that I visit her the following week when she was less busy.
b) Mdm Ana suggested to me that I should visit her the following week when she was less busy.

Which of these options is a more appropriate answer? Why?

My selections are based on which option offers greatest clarity.

1. With respect to Peiling, the options imply the teacher is of the same gender. Thus using "she" and "her" in the same sentence can be confusing. I'd therefore discount options (c) and (d). And I'd choose (a) over (b) because (a) offers the greater distinction between Peiling and the teacher.
Thus, my selection: Option (a).

2. With respect to Mdm Ana, she made a suggestion which allows "me" a greater flexibility to my future action. Thus option (b) with "should" (implying more of a command) is discounted.
Thus, my selection: Option (a).
