My selections are based on which option offers greatest clarity.
1. With respect to Peiling, the options imply the teacher is of the same gender. Thus using "she" and "her" in the same sentence can be confusing. I'd therefore discount options (c) and (d). And I'd choose (a) over (b) because (a) offers the greater distinction between Peiling and the teacher.
Thus, my selection: Option (a).
2. With respect to Mdm Ana, she made a suggestion which allows "me" a greater flexibility to my future action. Thus option (b) with "should" (implying more of a command) is discounted.
Thus, my selection: Option (a).
