100 pupils ate 100 buns. each boy ate 3 buns. every 3 girl shared 1 bun. how many girls and how many boys are there? For this question I have used Number x Value. Depending on what you have learnt, you could leverage other methods as this is a little more complicated with Number X Value if you do not know how to multiple the 100 - u.

1 boy 3 buns 3 girls 1 bun 1 boy 3 girls total 4 buns 4 buns 4 person 100/4 = 25 25 set of 4 in each set of 4 is 1 guy 3 girls 1x25 = 25 guys 3x25 = 75 girls 25+ 75 = 100 check: counting the number of buns 25x3 = 75 75/3 = 25 75+25 = 100 so the answer is 25 boys and 75 girls
