I like to use the model method a lot,I use it on almost all problem sums but.. some problems when I try like a billion times I cant use the model my friends always tell me to use algebra and you will understand the model method but I never understand algebra or how to use it. Sure i know how to do algebra problem sums but cant use it on hard sums with no algebra. So please someone explain it to me?
Hi there, I am afraid you will need to be more specific by, perhaps, posting a question that you are having problems with as to "explain" algebra without context is going to be very vague and perhaps not give you the information you require. As a start, do a search on google. Here are two links describing 'what is algebra'

With regards to models - I agree they are very useful and easy to understand because of the visual assistance they provide. That said, there are particular questions that I would not use models for due to their complexity. This is the reason people have developed other methods over the years to compliment model drawing and allow you to solve more complicated questions. Was you enter into Secondary School the reliance on models will slowly diminish as you become more familiar with algebra and other techniques.
