The library and the bank were 16 km apart. At 11.30am, Ali left the library and cycled towards the bank at 11 km/h. At the same time, David left the bank and cycled towards the library at 13 km/h along the same road. Find the time when Ali passed David on the road.

My attempt:
Ali -- 11/60 km per min
David -- 13/16 km per min

Minute 60 30 40
Ali
Km from library 11 5-1/2 7-1/3

David
Km from bank 13 6-1/2 8-2/3
Km from library 3 9-1/2 7-1/3

11.30am + 40 mins = 12.10pm

Hence the time when Ali passed David on the road is 12.10pm

Is this correct? Is there an alternative approach?

Yes, since they are travelling toward each other, we just add up their speed in mins.
11/60 + 13/60 =2/5 km/min
Time taken =Dist/Speed = 16/2 X 5 = 40
11.30am + 40min = 12.10pm
