Q1 . The toal length of two pieces of rope was 34m. Their difference in length was 8m. After cutting a fixed length of rope from each piece, the length of the shorter piece was 8/13 of that of the longer piece. What length of rope was cut from each piece?

Q2. The sum of two numbers is 90. 1/10 of the first number is 1 more than 1/10 of the second number. Fnd each of the numbers.

Q3. Bryan spent 3/7 of her money on 6 marbles and 6 crystals balls, and 1/4 of the remainder on 10 metal balls. Each marble cost 1/7 as much as a crystal ball. Each metal ball cost $0.30 more than a marble. How much money did Bryan spend on each crystal ball?

This question is similar to your last post but a little more confusing because of the decimal. You can apply the Constant Difference approach.

Before
Rope A : Rope B
13 : 21 (Diff 8units --> Actual Numbers)
65 : 105 (Diff 40units)

After
Rope A : Rope B
8 : 13 (Diff 5)
64 : 104 (Diff 40)

Difference comparing before and after is 1unit
65units --> 13
1unit --> .2m (or 20cm)

The sum of two numbers is 90. 1/10 of the first number is 1 more than 1/10 of the second number. Fnd each of the numbers.

There are a few ways to do this. The first that comes to my mind is to get rid of the fractions like this.
-- 1/10A - 1/10B --> 1. A is larger number and B is bigger number
-- A - B --> 10
Now you can draw a model, if you need, and you will see the two numbers are 40 and 50.
