Need help to understand the following question in the book:-

12. In a basket 1/3 are pears and the rest are oranges. If I give away 8 oranges, there will be 3/5 as many pears as oranges. How many oranges and apples were in the basket altogether?

In the answer sheet, pears are classified as 1U and Oranges as 3U initially. I don't understand where it is 3U when the question says the rest are oranges. I would have assumed that the oranges are 2U. Please help to clarify.
thanks.

Yes, you are correct. The oranges should be 2units and the final answer should be 72.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused. This has been corrected for the next print run.
