Hi Lovely,

There is a faint line in the diagram, so draw this line to form a triangle. Draw another dotted line to divide the lower shaded region into two. Move both of them (shaded) to fill up the unshaded regions outside the triangle. Finally, you will have an unshaded triangle with base and height as 20 cm.

Area of unshaded area of the figure = 1/2 x 20cm x 20cm = 200 cm2

Answer is option (2)

Note: The answer is the solution on the left 200cm2. For information, you can see the area of the shaded part 114cm2.
