The term digital in this manner is used to describe a 'media' delivery platform (medium) and typically refers to on-line / internet media and/or animation. Other platforms include print (newspaper, magazines, books), broadcast (TV, radio), etc. The term electronic [game] originally referred to electronic handheld games, TV console games and arcade games or any game that uses computer technology. This term came about before the internet became 'normal' say 25-30 years ago.
Today, there is no real distinction between digital or electronic games. Handheld games connect to the internet, games on the iPhone call up the internet, etc. TV Console games such as X-Box, PS/2, Wii now leverage the internet and allow you to connect and play against many people. Even one of the top selling game producers for X-Box, PS/2, Wii is suitably called Electronic Arts (EA).
Perhaps there is greater context to your question which can help to further classify the X-Box? For example the X-Box itself being an electronic console game while the specific game being played uses a digital platform (internet) to connect players around the world.
