pls help.

1. mark and lucas collect a total of 230 stickers. 20% of mark's stickers and 25% of lucas' stickers are magnetic stickers. if a total of 50 stickers are magnetic stickers, how many stickers does mark have?

2. adele, ben and sam share a sum of money. 40% of adele's money is equal to 25% of ben's money. sam receives 1/3 as much as ben. if adele gives 20% of her money to sam, sam will have $132. how much money does adele receive?

Q1
mark + lucas --> 230 stickers
1/5 mark + 1/4 lucas --> 50 stickers
4/5 mark + lucas --> 200 stickers
1/5 mark -- > 30 stickers
5/5 mark --> 150 stickers

understand Q1 - should've thot of it!

how about Q2 -- adele, ben and sam share a sum of money. 40% of adele's money is equal to 25% of ben's money. sam receives 1/3 as much as ben. if adele gives 20% of her money to sam, sam will have $132. how much money does adele receive?

would the answer be $132x5=$660 since 20% of adele's money =$132?

How do you get 4/5 mark + lucas -> 200 stickers?

We had two original equations

mark + lucas --> 230 stickers
1/5 mark + 1/4 lucas --> 50 stickers

In order to eliminate lucas I multiplied the second equation by 4:
4/5 mark + lucas --> 200 stickers

Note: When you multiply an equation by 4 you must multiply each item / value by 4.
