If you choose 3, you have to take note that freezing point is also melting point where a liquid changes to solid and a solid changes to liquid.Not only that, at 110 degrees,it must gas and if its boiling point is 110 degrees,it can be both liquid or gas.\

At 20deg - substance is a solid since it has a definite shape and volume
At 40deg - substance is a liquid since it does not have a definite shape (takes the shape of container it is in) but definite volume
At 110deg - substance is a gas because gases can be compressed

Ans: (1)
Cannot be (2) because if freezing point is 50deg - at 40deg it would still be a solid
Cannot be (3) because at 20deg it would either be solid or liquid as change of state is taking place and at 110deg it would be liquid and gas as change of state is taking place
Cannot be (4) because if freezing point is 60deg - at 40deg it would still be a solid
