I would like to register my son, Kieran Gregg Ng for the P5 workshop on 23 & 24 Nov workshop. He is studying in ACS Primary School. He is primary 5 this year and his SA1 score is 39/100. He is weak in Math subject and I would also like to enrol him for the P4 workshop prior to P5 workshop so that he has a better understanding. Thank you

We would recommend that you register your child for the P4 workshop as it covers content taught in P3 but at level of difficulty expected in the new term starting in P4. That would not really be advisable unless she is really weak - like really. Remember those kids enrolled in the P4 workshop will have only just finished P3. Thus, I would imagine, she would still be considerably ahead of the rest of the class. If anything I would suggest that she brushes up a little on her P4 materials by repeating her CA2 / SA2 paper or previous years paper. But not too much, I am sure like most kids, she will be deserving a good rest after SA2. It's best to have her rested and looking forward to the workshop rather than hating it because she had to prepare
Can i request for the P6 workshop to include a section on Patterns as i noticed that most books do not really teach methods to resolve this type of problems. tq.

Thank you for your feedback. The focus of this workshop is to equip your child with thinkingmath strategies to solve problem sums. To learn how to tackle questions covered under topics such as Patterns (or even Speed, Rate, Algebra etc), there are other workshops that you can consider in 2012. will you have new classes for P6? My daughter joined the June workshop and she leant a lot. She really wants to join the workshop this coming holiday but she is only free after 7th DEC. Hope there will be new classes in DEC.

Hope you can consider opening another P4 workshop, my daughter is having problem understanding the school Math teacher. When I brought her to Mar workshop, she told me she can understand better and benefited from the workshop.
So if you plan to open another P4 workshop, please have it after 16th Dec as I am not in town. Many thanks!

The location for the additional workshop is pretty far and inconvenient
The closest MRT station would be Paya Lebar. There is also Dakota for those on the circle line, however there are less bus transfers along it's path. As for a venue closer to a central MRT we have already made available workshops near the Novena MRT station, which as you can imagine disappoints those parents and students living in the far West, far North and far East. If Eastgate is inconvenient for yourself, you may like to waitlist for available spaces at the workshops at Novena.
